Marty’s Rock Recording School

Marty’s Rock Recording School

With my experience as a performer, producer, engineer, studio owner and Berklee College of Music Professor,

I am starting my online “world wide” Rock Band Recording “Experience”.

For the past 9 years I have been the “Artistic Director” of Berklee’s Summer Programs Five Week Rock Workshop. I have had students from all over the world participate in this.

In the workshop we spend the 4th week preparing for two days in the recording studio. This Online Experience will be emulating that 4th week.

In this four week course, as a band we will have meetings online on Monday’s and Thursday’s using Zoom, where we will discuss and prepare 3 songs to record. In these Zoom discussions we will set the road map for recording each piece. With my guidance every student will record their own tracks at home and load them to the cloud. I then download the tracks, make “sub” mixes to send the next performer and when all files are complete I mix the final masters. With the 3rd song, students will record audio and video and I will be mixing and editing a final music video of the class.

The only technical requirements are that the student has an ability to record. The DAW workstations currently popular like Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, even Garage band will work just fine.

There are 6 positions in the class, Drums, Bass, Keyboards, 2 guitarists and lead vocal.

Tuition is $500 for the 4 week course
